SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Hunan Zhuzhou Chemical plans to carry out regular maintenance at its 300,000 tonne/year polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant located in Hunan province on 27 May, a company source said on Tuesday.

The routine maintenance shutdown will last for about one week, the company source added.

The producer offered PVC at yuan (CNY) 6,650/tonne ($1,081/tonne) EXW (ex-works) on 14 May, unchanged compared with its offers on 10 May, the source said.

The company’s PVC output is mainly sold to the southern part of China, the source added.

Additionally, the company is expected to maintain the operating rate of the plant at 60% capacity before its shutdown, as the supply of its raw material calcium carbide is sufficient, according to the source.
