SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Toray Plastics Malaysia plans to shut two of its acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) lines in November for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.

The company operates a total of 6 lines in Penang state for a combined output of 330,000 tonnes/year.

Two of the lines, with a capacity of 55,000 tonnes/year each, will undergo maintenance toward the end of the year.

The precise schedule has not been confirmed.

ABS resins are used to make toys, appliances, consumer electronics as well as in the construction and automotive sectors.
