Iran’s Sepehr Energy to start up new petchem units, gas plants by 2018

TEHRAN (ICIS)--Iran’s Sepehr Energy Corp plans to complete a number of new projects by 2018, including three methanol units, three gas refineries, one polyethylene (PE) plant and one mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant, a senior executive of SECO International Trading Co (SITCO) said late on Wednesday.

Sepehr Energy Corp will have 4.95m tonnes/year of methanol capacity by 2016, SITCO’s deputy managing director, M S Shamshiri said.

The company would have a total of 30.92m tonnes/year of methane capacity and 3.2m tonnes/year of ethane capacity when all its new projects came on stream by 2018, he added.

SITCO is the trading arm of Sepehr Energy Corp, a holding company fully owned by the Bank of Saderat in Iran.
