TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan's production of cast polypropylene (PP) film increased by 5.7% year on year to 13,349 tonnes in April, official data from the Japan Polypropylene Film Industry Association showed on Monday.
Domestic shipments of cast PP film rose by 6% to 13,812 tonnes from the previous year, while exports were up by 38% to 395 tonnes, according to the association.
Meanwhile, the country produced 18,525 tonnes of oriented PP film in April, a 2.8% decrease from the previous year, the data showed.
Domestic shipments of oriented PP film stood at 21,349 tonnes, a 6.9% increase year on year, while exports rose by 28% to 362 tonnes, based on the statistics.
