BUCHAREST (ICIS)--Romanian construction company AdePlast is to start production this week at its new expandable polystyrene (EPS) unit in Oradea, the company said on Monday.
The unit has a capacity of 700,000 cubic metres/year (cbm/year), with an investment value of around €3.2m ($4.1m).
"Through the new production facility, the company aims to cover western part of Romania with lower costs, and also to serve customers in neighbouring countries, as well as western Europe ", the company added.
AdePlast, which is operating another 700,000 cbm/year EPS unit in Ploiesti, southern Romania, plans to open a third unit in Roman, eastern Romania, by July.
AdePlast is a producer of construction materials. The company registered a net profit of €3.2m in 2012, with a turnover of €41.5m.
