LONDON (ICIS)--February methylene chloride exports from Europe were down by 5% from February 2012, data from European statistics agency Eurostat showed on Tuesday.
February 2013 exports to the rest of the world amounted to 7,731 tonnes, compared with 8,147 tonnes in February 2012.
January 2013 methylene chloride exports totalled 4,577 tonnes, down by 30% from 6,511 tonnes in January 2012.
Eurostat import/export data is subject to revision as more detailed information becomes available.
Methylene chloride – the most widely used of the chlorinated solvents – has a variety of applications, such as paint and varnish removal, as an extraction medium/process solvent, and electronics and metal cleaning.
