HOUSTON (ICIS)--Chris Jahn has been named the president of The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), effective on 9 September, the group said on Tuesday.
Jahn has served as president of the National Association of Chemical distributors (NACD) since 2006. While there, Jahn directed initiatives that expanded the NACD's role in legislation and regulation.
During his tenture at the NACD, the group enhanced the reputation and effectiveness of the third-party verification programme, Responsible Distribution, TFI said.
“Chris’ experience in the security, environmental and product stewardship arenas will enhance TFI’s advocacy on behalf of the fertilizer industry,” said Jim Prokopanko, TFI's chairman.
“He has demonstrated the ability to enhance a trade association’s profile by building consensus within the community of members and with like-minded allied organisations," Prokopanko said.
Jahn will succeed Ford West, who is retiring from TFI after 34 years at the group.
