LONDON (ICIS)--Momentive Specialty Chemicals restarted its acrylic acid (AA) plant in Sokolov, Czech Republic at the weekend, following planned maintenance, a source from the chemicals producer said on Wednesday.
The producer had shut one of its two AA plants at the end of April for planned maintenance.
The plant has the capacity to produce 55,000 tonnes/year of AA.
AA is a key intermediate chemical used in the production of acrylic esters and resins, which are used in paints, coatings, textiles, adhesives, polishes, and plastics.
