China’s Wintime Energy forms JV to develop shale gas in Guizhou

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wintime Energy announced on Thursday that it has agreed with Jiangsu-based Changjiang Geological Exploration Institute to jointly develop shale gas in the FengGang 2 block in Guizhou province.

Under an agreement signed on 29 May, Wintime Energy’s wholly-owned subsidiary Huaying Shanxi Energy Investment and Changjiang Geological Exploration Institute will form an 86.5:13.5 joint venture at Guizhou to conduct exploration, development, production and operation of the FengGang 2 block, according to a statement from Wintime Energy.

The block covers an area of 1,030 sq km and is estimated to have more than 127 trillion cubic metres of shale gas reserves, it said.
