Brazil Petrobras buys nitrogen fertilizer plant from Vale

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Brazil state energy producer Petrobras has bought a nitrogen fertilizer plant from Vale for reais (R) 234m ($111m, €85m), the company said on Friday.

The Araucaria Nitrogenados plant is in the southern Brazilian state of Parana, near the Presidente Getulio Vargas refinery (Repar), Petrobras said.

The fertilizer plant has the capacity to produce 700,000 tonnes/year of urea and 475,000 tonnes/year of ammonia.
