HOUSTON (ICIS)--US olefins producer ExxonMobil Chemical restarted its Baytown No 1 cracker in Texas, sources said on Tuesday.
The company reported a shutdown at the facility on 15 May, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
The filing said that a bleeder valve failure led to a shutdown of the compressors, which also caused flaring.
The No 1 cracker has an ethylene capacity of 1.2m tonnes/year, according to ICIS plants and projects.
Attempts to reach a company spokesperson for comment were unsuccessful.
