HOUSTON (ICIS)--US May styrene contracts on Friday were confirmed at a rollover of 77.25-81.25 cents/lb ($1,703-$1,791/tonne; €1,277-1,343/tonne) on average, following a series of settlements heard at small declines, rollovers and increases.
Only one major producer confirmed a price-increase nomination of 2 cents/lb for May, following the 11 cents/gal rebound in the May feedstock benzene contract.
Market participants had expected May contracts to be stable to weaker back in late May because of weakness in the benzene spot market that caused the June contract price to decline by 5 cents/gal.
