LONDON (ICIS)--European nylon exports from the EU 27 fell by 23% in March 2013 compared with March 2012, according to data released this week by Eurostat.
In March 2013, 727 tonnes of nylon was exported, compared with 944 tonnes in March 2012. Exports fell because of new nylon capacity coming on stream in Asia.
Nylon imports to the EU 27 fell by 20%, from 3,681 tonnes in March 2012, to 2,954 tonnes in March 2013. Import volumes fell because of weak demand from the automotive and fibre sectors, because of poor macroeconomic conditions.
