LONDON (ICIS)--Germany-based chemicals major BASF has resumed melamine production at its 65,000 tonne/year Ludwigshafen facility following production problems, market sources said on Thursday.

There was no confirmation from the supplier.

“BASF is back onstream,” a source said. “It should make the market longer.”

Supply from BASF has been reduced since September 2012, sources said.

Melamine is a raw material in wood-adhesive resins and laminates.
