SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals is planning to shut its 140,000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Osaka for two weeks of maintenance, on 5-19 July, a company source said on Thursday.

The producer will also shut its intermediate ethylene oxide (EO) plant at the same site during the same period, he added.

The shutdown will not affect regular supply to its customers as Mitsui Chemicals has built up stocks in preparation for the shutdown, the source said.
