EU methanol Q1 imports up 9% year on year: Eurostat

LONDON (ICIS)--Net methanol imports to the EU in the first quarter of 2013 increased by 9%, compared with the same period of 2012, data from European statistics agency Eurostat showed this week.

Total methanol imports to the EU in the first quarter of 2012 were over 1.5m tonnes. This figure rose to over 1.6m tonnes during the first quarter 2013.

Exports were essentially negligible, falling from 19,000 tonnes to 16,000 tonnes.
