HOUSTON (ICIS)--Bioproducts companies Solazyme and Roquette Freres have agreed to dissolve their joint venture, Solazyme Roquette Nutritionals, within the coming weeks, the companies announced on Monday.

Divergent views on an acceptable commercial strategy and timeline for making and marketing joint venture products was cited as the reason for the dissolution, the companies said in a news release.

US-based renewable oil producer Solazyme plans to accelerate commercialisation of its suite of microalgal food ingredients as a result, the company said.

Solazyme Roquette Nutritionals was making microalgal food ingredients such as its Almagine algalin line.

Based in France, Roquette Freres makes chemical derivatives from plants.
