SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Sanfangxiang Group expects to restart its 1.2m tonne/year PTA unit in end-June after a two-week shutdown, a company source said on Thursday.
The unit at Jiangyin in Jiangsu province was taken off line in mid-June for planned maintenance, the source said.
The company decided not to pursue debottlenecking work at the plant during the shutdown that would have increased the unit’s capacity by 300,000 tonnes/year, the source said.
“We will re-schedule the debottleneck work in a later period,” the source said. The company is also under constructing a new 400,000 tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle chip plant at the site that is expected to start up in the third quarter of 2013, the source said.
