LONDON (ICIS)--An initial European July orthoxylene (OX) contract was agreed at €1,055/tonne ($1,370/tonne) on Thursday, a reduction of €40/tonne from the previous month, one buyer and one seller said.

The buyer said the decrease had been agreed because of recent feedstock developments and better availability.

Demand is stable, although some players said it is not as healthy as had been expected.

The settlement was agreed on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis. Further confirmation from other players is pending.
