LONDON (ICIS)--Sofiproteol plans to close two biodiesel sites – with a combined capacity of 380,000 tonnes/year –  in France by the end of 2013 as part of a reorganisation of its biodiesel business, the French agribusiness group said in a statement on Friday.

Sofiproteol said the reorganisation was prompted by "the unfavourable context of the biofuels market" – in particular changes in EU legislation and "massive imports".

The company added that affected workers would be redeployed within the group.
