US May ammonia imports increase 11% year on year: ITC

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in May 2013 rose almost 11% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available on Monday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).

Ammonia imports increased to 561,375 tonnes in May from 507,276 tonnes in May 2012.

May 2013 imports were slightly down from 593,669 tonnes in April 2013.

Trinidad and Tobago at 282,018 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 100,519 and Russia at 79,832.

Other sources included Ukraine, Mexico and Colombia.
