LONDON (ICIS)--Praxair has started up its second air separation plant at a semiconductor facility run by Samsung in Hwasung, South Korea, the US-headquartered industrial gases specialist said on Tuesday.

The plant will supply high-purity oxygen, nitrogen and argon to Samsung’s operations at the site, according to Praxair.

The new facility will also allow Praxair to market the materials to other companies in the region, with a focus on the non-ferrous metal, wastewater treatment and shipbuilding sectors, the company added.

Praxair also supplies hydrogen, helium, process gases and various advanced materials for use in Samsung’s manufacturing processes, the company said.
