MELBOURNE (ICIS)--China’s Dynamic (Nanjing) Chemical Industry has shut its 60,000 tonne/year ethylene oxide (EO) unit in Nanjing for a turnaround, a company official said on Wednesday.

The EO plant was taken off line on 15 July and will undergo maintenance until the end of July, the official said.

The producer’s integrated 80,000 tonne/year downstream butyl glycol (BG) plant will remain operational for about a week and use its existing EO inventory as feedstock, the official added.

Dynamic (Nanjing) Chemical Industry is a subsidiary of Dynamic International Enterprises, which specialises in producing glycol ethers.

The producer’s second 100,000 tonne/year EO unit, which is currently under construction, is scheduled to be started up at the end of 2013, according to its website.
