SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Nippon Shokubai is on track to start operations at its new acrylic acid (AA) and super absorbent polymer (SAP) units at Cilegon, Indonesia, as planned in end-August, a company source said on Wednesday.
This comprises of the firm’s new 80,000 tonne/year AA unit as well as its new 90,000 tonne/year SAP unit, the source said.
The company last week restarted its existing crude AA and acrylate esters units in West Java after a month-long scheduled maintenance.
Nippon Shokubai is currently operating the crude AA and acrylate esters units at 100%, the source added.
