EU LLDPE imports, exports drop year on year in April, May

LONDON (ICIS)--Both imports and exports of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) into and out of the EU have dropped year on year in April and May, data from statistics agency Eurostat showed on Thursday.

May imports of LLDPE into the EU from the rest of the word dropped 9% compared with the same month in 2012, and exports from the EU fell 18%.  

It was a similar story in April, with imports falling by 12% and exports by 38%.

The EU countries imported 75,673 tonnes of LLDPE in May.

Eurostat import/export data is subject to revision as more detailed information becomes available
