SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) restarted its 700,000 tonne/year No 1 naphtha cracker in Mailiao on Friday following a brief unplanned shutdown, a company source said.
The operating rate of the cracker will be gradually increased but he did not provide details.
FPCC had shut the No 1 cracker on Wednesday night due to a power outage.
The company’s other two naphtha crackers at the site were not affected and are running at full rates.
FPCC operates a 1.03m tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 1.2m tonne/year No 3 cracker in Mailiao.
