Russia monomers, polymers output rises in June, says Rosstat

MOSCOW (ICIS)--Russia's overall production of monomers and polymers increased in June, the country’s statistical agency Rosstat said on Friday.

In June 2013, Russia's total output of ethylene was up by 21% year on year at 216,000 tonnes, while propylene production rose 20% to 104,000 tonnes, Rosstat said.

The country's total output of polyethylene (PE) was up by 24% year on year at 157,000 tonnes, while polypropylene (PP) production had increased 26% to 76,400 tonnes, it added.

According to Rosstat, Russia's total production of styrene in June was up by 21% year on year at 49,000 tonnes, while polystyrene (PS) output was 30.4% higher at 40,800 tonnes.

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production was up by 2.2% year on year at 55,700 tonnes, the agency said, while phenol output was 2.7% higher at 22,600 tonnes.
