HOUSTON (ICIS)—US Chevron Phillips reported a shutdown of its No. 22 ethylene unit at its Sweeny complex in Texas on 20 July after the loss of the gas-fired turbine/propylene compressor, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) made available on Monday.

The filing said that the shutdown also resulted in flaring and emissions of ethylene, propylene and other hydrocarbons.

The cracker has an ethylene capacity of 295,000 tonnes/year.

A company spokesperson declined to comment, citing company policy.
