LONDON (ICIS)--Increased tallow fatty acid prices are soon expected in Europe owing to higher feedstock values, sources said on Wednesday.
A supplier said it is now receiving higher offers for raw tallow feedstock material, owing to a lack of availability in Europe.
“[Feedstock] Prices have increased by around €50/tonne [$66/tonne] for September delivery,” the supplier said, adding that it may have to increase offers for tallow stearic acid as a result.
Despite the absence of a number of participants, low levels of activity continue to take place in the spot market, with some buyers still looking to cover their requirements throughout the summer months.
Tallow oleic acids were heard trading in the spot market at €1,150-1,200/tonne FD NWE, while tallow stearic acid was heard at €950/tonne FD NWE this week.
