HOUSTON (ICIS)--Here is Friday’s end of day Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: Sep WTI: $104.70/bbl, down 79 cents; Sep Brent: $107.17/bbl, down 48 cents
NYMEX WTI crude futures drifted lower in extremely thin liquidity and in the absence of a clear market driver. Downbeat economic Chinese manufacturing activity suggesting lower demand overshadowed a US report showing consumer sentiment rising to its highest level in six years. A weak dollar provided underlying support.

RBOB: Aug: $3.0444/gal, up 2.74 cents/gal
Reformulated blendstock for oxygen blending (RBOB) gasoline futures rebounded on Friday on concerns that Tropical Storm Dorian will strengthen and threaten oil production and refining in the US Gulf and east coast. For the week, RBOB futures were down 7.90 cents/gal.

NATURAL GAS: Aug: $3.555/MMBtu; down 8.9 cents
The August contract on the NYMEX natural gas futures market carried its recent losing streak into a third straight day, as the milder weather outlook and ongoing robust production levels intensified downward pricing pressure.

ETHANE: higher at 26.00 cents/gal
Ethane spot prices were higher on increased buying activity in the market.

AROMATICS: toluene wider at $3.85-3.95/gal, mixed xylene tighter at $3.95-4.05/gal
Prompt n-grade toluene spot prices were discussed within a wider range during the day, as offers firmed. The Friday toluene range ended the day further apart from $3.85-3.93/gal FOB (free on board) the previous session. Meanwhile, mixed xylene (MX) spot prices moved to within a tighter range, as bids firmed. Prompt MX spot prices narrowed from $3.85-4.05/gal FOB the previous session.

OLEFINS: ethylene wider at 52-56 cents/lb cents/lb, PGP higher at 65 cents/lb
US July ethylene bid/offer levels widened to 52.0-56.0 cents/lb compared with the previous day’s trading range of 53.5-54.5 cents/lb. US July polymer-grade propylene (PGP) prices moved up to 65 cents/lb on news of a deal done late Thursday, compared to two trades on Tuesday at 64 cents/lb.
