SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wanhua Chemical is running its methyl di-p-phenylene isocyanate (MDI) lines in Ningbo at an overall rate of nearly 80%, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The company has three MDI production lines in Ningbo city in Zhejiang province. Each line has a production capacity of 300,000 tonnes/year capacity each, ICIS data showed.
One line was restarted in mid-July after a 45-day planned maintenance.
Wanhua Chemical is the biggest MDI producer in Asia in terms of production capacity.
Its overall MDI capacity is expected to increase by 300,000 tonnes/year to 1.2m tonnes/year upon completion of technical upgrade at its MDI plant later this year.
