SINGAPORE (ICIS)--US major automaker General Motors said on Monday that it and joint ventures sold 221,580 vehicles in China in July, representing an 11.1% increase from the previous corresponding period.
This is the first time that July vehicle sales in China topped 200,000 units, the company said.
For January to July 2013, sales by GM and its joint ventures in China rose 10.7% year on year to 1.79m units, GM said.
GM has 12 joint ventures and two wholly-owned foreign enterprises in the country, which is the world’s biggest automotive market.
