LONDON (ICIS)--Qatar Chemical and Petrochemical Marketing and Distribution Company (Muntajat) has agreed to sell up to 3m tonnes/year of potash from Belarus' state-owned fertilizer major JSC Belaruskali, it said on Tuesday.

“The agreement to sell potash from Belarus marks a strategic evolution of Muntajat’s business,” said Muntajat CEO Abdulrahman Ali Al-Abdulla.

“This agreement is of benefit to our growing customer base, as well as to Belaruskali and Muntajat,” he added without disclosing financial terms.

Muntajat is a sales organisation that exports some 10m tonnes/year of Qatar’s chemicals and petrochemicals to worldwide markets.

The deal between Muntajat and Belaruskali comes after Russia’s Uralkali said last week it decided to leave its joint sales organisation with Belaruskali.
