South Korea’s LG Chem to run BR plant at 100% through September

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s LG Chem will run its butadiene rubber (BR) plant at full capacity throughout the month, and in September, a company source said on Thursday.

The 180,000 tonne/year BR plant in Daesan was running at 70% capacity in July, the source said.

On 8 August, high-cis BR prices were assessed at $1,650-1,750/tonne(€1,238-1,313/tonne) CFR (cost and freight) northeast (NE) Asia, up by $50-100/tonne from the previous week, according to ICIS data.
