SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s TSRC-Ube (Nantong) Chemical Industrial shut its 72,000 tonne/year butadiene rubber (BR) plant in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on 15 August, a company source said on Friday.

“We plan to shut down the plant for about 40 days because of weak market conditions. The plant will restart at the end of September,” the source said.

TSRC-Ube (Nantong), which is a major BR producer in Jiangsu province, is 55%-owned by Taiwan Synthetic Rubber Corp (TSRC), while Japanese firms Ube Industries and Marubeni hold a 25% and a 20% stake in the company, respectively.
