HOUSTON (ICIS)--Honeywell has won a contract to provide its process control system to Russia’s Antipinsky Refinery in Tyumen, the US-based diversified technology group said on Tuesday.

The contract is part of the third-stage construction to double the Antipinsky Refinery’s capacity to 7.5m tonnes/year, helping meet demand for clean fuels and other oil products in Russia and the EU, Honeywell said.

Honeywell said that the Antipinsky Refinery would use its Experion process control system as part of an initiative to create a single, central operations centre. In addition, Honeywell will install up to 60 additional workstations at the refinery’s control centre, it said.

The project at the Antipinsky Refinery also includes the construction of a water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, steam generation plant and other facilities. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of this year, Honeywell added.

"There is significant demand for Antipinsky Refinery products, both in the region and throughout Russia and the EU," said Leonid Sorkin, general manager for Honeywell in Russia.

Financial details were not disclosed.
