SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shenhua Shenmu is likely to delay the restart of its 400,000 tonne/year No 2 coal-based methanol unit in Shaanxi province following a turnaround, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant was originally scheduled to resume production on 27 August after it was shut on 12 August for maintenance, the source said.
The source declined to elaborate on the reasons behind the delay and said that the company has yet to firm up a schedule for the plant’s restart.
Meanwhile, the company has also yet to fix a timeline for the restart of its 200,000 tonne/year No 1 unit at the same site which was shut on 15 June, source said without elaborating further.
Shenhua Shenmu Chemical is owned by China Shenhua Coal to Liquid and Chemical Company.
