LONDON (ICIS)--Major producer NF Trading is planning to restart one of its two 30,000 tonne/year adipic acid (ADA) plants in Ukraine before the end of November, a source at the Helsinki-headquartered company said on Wednesday.
NF trading is currently looking for upstream benzene, and the plant should restart before the height of winter to avoid any benzene supply from freezing, the source said.
NF Trading halted production at this plant in mid-December 2011. It was originally scheduled to come back onstream in March 2012, but continuously weak margins have led to it remaining offline.
If the plant cannot restart before the end of November, NF Trading would look to restart it in March 2014, the source said.
NF Trading suspended production at its second plant in the Ukraine at the beginning of May 2012. There are no immediate plans for a restart at this second plant, the source said.
