LONDON (ICIS)--A turnaround to carry out repairs at Dow Chemical’s Terneuzen No 1 cracker in the Netherlands has been postponed until the fourth quarter because of better-than-expected demand and technical reasons, said a company source on Thursday.
Reports had suggested that the No 1 cracker would undergo repair work in the second half of August and be off line for around 10-12 days. The nature of the repair work was not disclosed.
Dow Chemical has the capacity to produce 1.82m tonnes/year of ethylene at the Terneuzen site, taking into account all three crackers.
