SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Lotte Chemical Corp raised the operating rate at its Daesan-based aromatics plant to 90% this week from early August’s level of 80% on the back of more feedstock, a company source said late on Thursday.
“We are still unsure when the operating rates can be increased, depending on our pygas feedstock,” the source said.
The Daesan-based unit has a nameplate capacity of 240,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 132,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 72,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene.
Meanwhile, the Yeosu-based aromatics facility is still running at 90%, he said.
The Yeosu-based plant has a nameplate capacity of 180,000 tonnes/year of benzene, 84,000 tonnes/year of toluene and 60,000 tonnes/year of solvent xylene.
