SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Ar-Razi Saudi Methanol plans to shut its 1.7m tonne/year No 5 methanol plant at Al-Jubail in Saudi Arabia from November to early December 2013 for a 40 day scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Friday.
As this is a scheduled shutdown there will be no impact on supplies, the source said.
Customers of the plants said their shipments have been on time, despite the regular maintenance carried out by the company at its various methanol facilities.
There are no maintenance plans this year for its No 1, 2 and 3 methanol plants. There was an earlier maintenance on its No 4 plant.
The five plants have a combined methanol capacity of 4.9m tonnes/year.
Ar-Razi Saudi Methanol is a 50:50 joint venture between SABIC and a Japanese consortium led by Mitsubishi Gas Chemical.
