LONDON (ICIS)--The European September butadiene (BD) contract price has been agreed up by €25/tonne at €775/tonne ($1,020/tonne), contract players said on Friday.
The contract, which is settled on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis, was confirmed by two major producers and two major consumers.
The BD market is more balanced than it has been in recent months, with supply being reduced by rate reductions and production hiccups.
Export price ideas increased from $600-650/tonne FOB (free on board) ARA (Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp) at the beginning of the month to $800-900/tonne FOB ARA on 23 August, according to ICIS.
