SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Wuhan Petrochemical restarted its 300,000 tonne/year HDPE unit in Hubei province on 3 September, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The HDPE unit, which was started up in late August this year, was shut on 30 August unexpectedly for maintenance.

The company is producing HDPE pipe grade at the plant, the source said, adding that the plant's operating rate is low, although the exact run rate was not known.

Wuhan Petrochemical is a joint venture between Sinopec and South Korea’s SK Group.
