LONDON (ICIS)--The Corepla post-consumer polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle tender in Italy for September delivery has been settled at €280-320/tonne ($367-422/tonne) for mixed coloured and €380-420/tonne for colourless, a source at the collection consortium confirmed on Wednesday.

Post-consumer PET bottles are the feedstock for the recycled polyethylene terephthalate (R-PET) chain.

The tender was settled last week with prices on an ex-works basis.

As of 2 September, spot prices for post-consumer bottles in northwest Europe (NWE) were stable from the previous week at €525-625/tonne FD (free delivered) NWE for colourless and €350-450/tonne FD NWE for mixed-coloured.

Collection rates of post-consumer bottles tend to rise in the summer months with the warmer weather.

Nevertheless, the peak bottle-collecting season is now drawing to an end.

Corepla is a not-for-profit organisation, which is part of "CONAI System" (National Packaging Consortium), and was established in November, 1997.
