HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-toluene di-isocyanates (TDI) in July 2013 were up by more than 19% from July 2012, according to data made available on Friday by the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
TDI exports in July 2013 rose to 15,219 tonnes from 12,778 tonnes in 2012.
Month on month, exports rose by almost 104% in July from 7,475 tonnes in June 2013, the ITC said.
However, this year through July, exports declined by more than 13% to 69,080 tonnes, compared with 79,782 tonnes in the first seven months of 2012.
The decrease from 2012 to 2013 was a result of smaller volumes being shipped to Belgium, Canada, South Africa, Peru and Ecuador.
Top destinations for US TDI through July were Brazil (17,216 tonnes), Mexico (12,349 tonnes), Belgium (9,583 tonnes) and Canada (8,035 tonnes).
US TDI suppliers are Bayer MaterialScience, BASF and Dow Chemical.
