HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in July 2013 decreased by almost 9% from the same month a year earlier, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday.
Ammonia imports decreased to 475,331 tonnes in July from 519,595 tonnes in July 2012. Imports declined in July mainly because of decreased product from Russia.
July 2013 imports were down from 486,644 tonnes in June 2013.
Trinidad and Tobago at 301,596 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 119,640 and the Ukraine at 34,524.
Other sources included Venezuela, Russia and Korea.
