HOUSTON (ICIS)--BASF plans to build a $42.6m (€32.0m) polyurethanes (PU) blending facility in Geismar, Louisiana, the state's governor said on Thursday.
Construction should begin this month, and it should be completed in the second quarter of 2015, said Governor Bobby Jindal.
The new polyurethanes blending facility at the BASF Geismar complex follows the construction of a surfactants plant that should start production next year; a formic acid plant announced in 2012; and a methylamines plant that the company finished in 2011.
The PU blending facility brings BASF's total capital investment in the state to more than $350m since 2009, Jindal said.
