SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Saudi Arabia's Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical (Petro Rabigh) is resuming operations at its refining and petrochemical complex in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia, following a power outage, the company said over the weekend.
The crude distillation unit (CDU) at the 400,000 bbl/day refinery were not affected by the power cut but some furnaces at the ethane cracker were damaged and is expected to take 16 days to fix, the company said in a statement on the Saudi Stock Exchange.
Losses resulting from the power cut has been estimated at around Saudi riyal (SR) 250m ($67m), and this will be reflected in the company’s third-quarter results, the company added.
