China’s Befar Group starts up new hydrogen peroxide plant

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Befar Group has recently started up its 30,000 tonne/year hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plant at Binzhou in Shandong province, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

The new yuan (CNY) 160m ($26m) plant brings up its total capacity of H2O2 to 100,000 tonnes/year, it added.

The statement did not give details when the project was started or when was it actually completed.

Befar Group is major producer of propylene oxide (PO), trichloroethylene and a leading producer of caustic soda in China.

The company is headquartered at Binzhou city in Shandong province.

H2O2 is primarily used as disinfectant.
