SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao’s Group I and II base oils plants are currently shut because of a technical glitch following a power outage late last week, a company source said on Monday.

The company has a nameplate production capacity of 400,000 tonnes/year for Group I base oils and 300,000 tonnes/year for Group II grades.

The plants in Shanghai that were taken off line on 19 September are expected to resume production in mid-October, the source said.

Sinopec Shanghai Gaoqiao produces about 20,000 tonnes of base oils per month, industry sources said, but most of the plants’ output is for captive use.
